(Doctor of Chiropractic) Biography

Dr. Robert Trew BSc D.C.

(Doctor of Chiropractic)

  • Trained at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic
  • Member of the College of Chiropractors
  • Member of the British Chiropractic Association
  • Licentiate of The Royal College of Chiropractors

After completing his studies at AECC University College, Bournemouth in 1995, Robert did his post-graduate training in Bath.

In 1996, he came to London and founded Battersea Back Clinic. Robert has always maintained a belief that sedentary lifestyle is the silent cause of a vast majority of back problems.

In the 90s, when starting in his profession, it struck him how many people spent time sitting not just at office-bound work, but also when commuting, relaxing and socializing.

“Today our spine experiences even more challenges.” He notes.

The ever-evolving screen technology we have grown to love and even rely on, lies at the root of what is termed ‘tech neck’. A catchy term but a phenomena which affects the entire spine. The exaggerated curve in the neck, caused by chronic posture and lack of movement is a growing concern for both the young and the old.

Lockdown exacerbated our sedentary lifestyle, and working from home contributed to poor chronic posture, leading to a steep increase in back problems.

Battersea Back Clinic is committed to helping patients manage their spine through manipulation, encouraging exercise regimes to re- condition the spine, ergonomic techniques to help desk bound patients minimize the effects of sitting, and posture realignment to reduce the stress from ‘tech neck’.
